Blog hop: Passion for pattern.. 26 designers together!

Hello! Welcome to the Fabulous Passion for Pattern bloghop!

If you are visiting us, is because we share the same passion for color and pattern! You may have found us after visiting the blog of Jacqueline Auvigne I am sure that her passion for art and her creative enthusiasm captured you. After my post make sure to stop by Evelyn Cassoli blog, she has a great sense of style and color.
You can always go the beginning of the hop and pop over to Claire Smillie lovely blog, she is a great designer and a very enthusiastic person, who by the way, organized this fabulous bloghop gathering 26 designers around the world!
We all were part of the amazing The art and business of Surface pattern design e-course featuring Rachael Taylor and organized by Beth Nicholls two amazing womans and profesionals.
I highly recommend this course to anyone that want to learn the fantastic path about Surface Pattern design.

" My passion for pattern started long time ago, I was lucky to know soon in my life that I wanted to be a designer, when I was college studying graphic design and I touched lots of design disciplines, I knew I wanted to do textile design and specifically design for printed fabrics.
My life changed when I was the lucky winner of a Textile design contest in 1995 in my late days of university.
I was so happy! I got to see for first time 3 of my designs being produced in fabric, I got some money, an appearance in an important newspaper in Mexico(my home country) and a glass trophy that is proudly displayed in my design studio, but there were two  very important life prizes that contest gave, the first one was  to have my friends and family together celebrating with me and that memory will stick with me all my life, and the second was that from that moment  I got the confidence and the assurance that Textile design is what I wanted and meant to do in life.
It was the starting point of my career as a textile designer!!

After the contest, a Design of printed fabrics teacher offered me a job in one of the most important textile companies in Mexico, and since then I never left this profession.
I got some detours after having the itch to learn about the business side of textiles. I had lots of fun learning about the reality of doing business, I traveled a lot, I meet fantastic and talented people, I worked for powerful brands , I moved as expat to 2 different countries and not matter what, I knew one day I will finally do what I loved the most! To design prints!
I had to pass some not very nice experiences and a bit of dark time to get the courage to follow my dream.
I got the support of my family and friends and of course of my soulmate and husband Vincent ,to reach my star and together we founded Believe creative studio, and here we are! After one year we opened our business, we are exhibiting in the most important pattern design show in the world: Indigo-PV in Paris, and this year my work was also for first time exhibited by my agent in Surtex in New York

Dreams come true, you just have to believe on it and mostly believe in your self... whatever is your dream follow it and do what you love to do!

  14. Such an inspiring story Rosa.
I'm an expat myself. I'm originally from Colombia, but moved to Italy to finish my studies and pursue my dream of working for an important fashion brand before creating my own. The journey hasn't been easy at all, and I still haven't achieved my goal. I don't give up, even though many don't understand why I keep persisting. I've learned a lot though, even if I haven't worked where I thought I would (yet). Like you, I was lucky enough to have always known that I wanted to be a fashion and textile designer, but in the past 4 years I've understood that I want to be a children's designer, and not only a textile, but a surface pattern designer. I've just started the ABSPD's module 1, and now I'm counting the days to start the second module. I know my time will come, and like you... I believe all dreams can come true ^_^
Good luck at Indigo... That's an amazing opportunity!

You probably achieved more than you realized... look at you you are already in Italy, how many people from our Latinamerica would love to have this opportunity. Do not give up!!, you deinetly will find lots of "no believers" in your path, doesn't matter... keep dreaming and working, be ready!!
